How to Draw Baklava

11 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw baklava in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: a diamond top.

Print

  1. Step 1: A diamond top

A little left of the middle draw a wide flat diamond, about a hand across and not very tall.

  2. Step 2: The front

Start at the left corner. Draw 2 front faces under the diamond, a thumb tall, stop at the right corner.

Tip Now it is a flat diamond block, like a gem.

  3. Step 3: Pastry layers

Across both front faces draw 4 thin lines that follow the top edges, for the flaky pastry layers.

  4. Step 4: A second piece

Behind it, to the right, draw a smaller diamond block. Start at its left corner, stop at its right corner.

  5. Step 5: Its layers

Draw 4 thin layer lines across the second piece too.

  6. Step 6: Pistachio crumbs

Sprinkle 8 little oval crumbs on the tops: 5 on the big piece and 3 on the small one.

  7. Step 7: A plate

From the big piece's left side, draw a big oval plate round under both pieces to the small piece.

  8. Step 8: The table

Draw a line under the plate from far left to far right, just touching its bottom.

  9. Step 9: Tan sides, sky plate

Go over your lines, then colour the front faces tan and the plate sky blue.

  10. Step 10: Golden brown tops

Colour both diamond tops golden brown, going around the crumbs.

  11. Step 11: Green pistachios

Colour the crumbs green, and your baklava is done!
