How to Draw Cornbread
Draw cornbread in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the skillet.
Step 1: The skillet
Left of the middle draw a big round frying pan seen from above, over half the page tall.
Step 2: Inside edge
Draw a second round a finger inside the pan, all the way round.
Step 3: The handle
From the right of the pan draw a short thick handle going out right, with a flat end.
Step 4: The cornbread
Inside the pan draw a big round with one wedge gone at the bottom right, like a cut pie.
Tip Cornbread is baked in a hot iron skillet and cut into wedges.
Step 5: Cut into wedges
From the middle draw 4 straight lines out to the edge: down-left, up-left, up and up-right.
Step 6: Golden edge
Just inside the front edge draw a curve from the gap round to the end of the down-left cut.
Step 7: Cut wedge
Draw the missing wedge pulled a little out of the gap, with its point aiming back at the middle.
Step 8: Its thick edge
Just inside the wedge's curved edge draw a curve from one straight side over to the other.
Step 9: Pat of butter
On the wedge draw a soft tilted square with round corners for a pat of butter.
Step 10: Cream butter
Go over your lines. Colour the butter pat cream.
Step 11: Golden cornbread
Colour the cornbread yellow around the butter, then the thick edges golden brown and dot a few crumbs.
Step 12: Black skillet
Colour the inside of the pan grey around the cornbread, then the pan ring and handle black.
