How to Draw a Babysitter

15 steps · Tricky · about 11 min

Draw a babysitter in 15 steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.

Print

  1. Step 1: The head

Near the top of your paper draw an egg for the head, a little narrower at the chin.

Tip Leave most of the page below for the body.

  2. Step 2: The face

Below the middle draw 2 round eyes with an eyelash each. Add a tiny nose, a smile and eyebrows.

  3. Step 3: Hair and ponytail

Start on the left by the eyebrows. Draw hair over the top to the right, then a fringe curve across.

  4. Step 4: Neck and T-shirt

Draw 2 neck lines. From the left one draw the T-shirt down, across, and back up to the right one.

  5. Step 5: Arms

From each sleeve draw a thick arm down the side. Bend it in at the elbow, to the wrist.

Tip The 2 arms point at each other: the baby lies on them.

  6. Step 6: Hands

On each wrist draw a round mitten hand pointing in toward the middle.

  7. Step 7: Baby's blanket

Resting on the hands draw a big soft loaf for the wrapped baby, fatter and higher at the left end.

  8. Step 8: Baby's head

At the high end of the blanket draw the baby's round head. Add a fold curve beside it.

  9. Step 9: Baby's face

Give the baby 2 round eyes, a smile and a little curl of hair on top.

  10. Step 10: Jeans

From the hem's left end draw the jeans down, up to the middle, down, and up to its right end.

  11. Step 11: Shoes and ground

Under each leg draw a shoe with the toe pointing out and a lace line. Add a ground line.

  12. Step 12: Two toys

On the ground draw a striped ball on the left and a star block on the right.

  13. Step 13: Pink shirt, blue jeans

Colour the T-shirt pink around the arms and the baby. Colour the jeans and the toy block blue.

    Tip Leave the shoes white.

  14. Step 14: Yellow blanket, brown hair

Colour the blanket and the ball's stripe yellow, around the baby's head and the hands. Colour the hair brown.

  15. Step 15: Peach skin, pink cheeks

Colour both faces, the neck, arms and hands peach, with pink cheeks. Leave the eyes white. Your babysitter is done!
