How to Draw a Couple
Draw a couple in 15 steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: two heads.
Step 1: Two heads
Near the top draw 2 eggs for the heads, side by side with a gap between, narrower at the chin.
Tip Keep the gap: they hold hands there.
Step 2: The man's face
On the left head, below the middle, draw 2 round eyes with dots, a tiny nose, a smile and eyebrows.
Step 3: The woman's face
Give the right head the same face: 2 round eyes with dots, a tiny nose, a smile and eyebrows.
Step 4: Short hair, long hair
Give the man soft tufts from temple to temple. Give the woman long hair flowing down to her shoulders.
Step 5: Shirt and tie
From the man's chin draw 2 neck lines down to a shirt with short sleeves, a collar and a tie.
Step 6: The dress
From the woman's chin draw 2 neck lines down to a dress with a belt across and a wide skirt.
Tip Stop the dress lines where they reach her hair.
Step 7: Arms
From the man's sleeves and under the woman's hair ends, draw 4 bent arms that get thinner to the wrists.
Tip The inner arms make a V pointing down between them.
Step 8: Holding hands
Start on each wrist and draw a mitten back to the wrist. In the middle the 2 mittens overlap.
Tip Draw the man's mitten first, then the woman's tucked behind.
Step 9: Trousers and legs
Under the shirt draw long trousers with a belt. From the dress hem draw 2 short legs down, ending lower.
Step 10: Shoes and ground
Under each leg draw a shoe, toe pointing out. Draw one long ground line under all the shoes.
Step 11: The man's skin
Colour the cheeks pink, then the man's face, neck, arms and hands peach around them. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: The woman's skin
Colour her cheeks pink, then her face, neck, arms, hands and legs peach around them. Leave the eyes white.
Step 13: Red tie, blue shirt
Colour the tie red, then the shirt blue around it. Leave the collar white.
Step 14: Teal dress, brown trousers
Colour the dress teal. Colour the man's trousers and all 4 shoes brown.
Step 15: Black and brown hair
Colour the man's hair black and the woman's hair brown. Go over your lines and your couple is done.
