How to Draw Asparagus
Draw asparagus in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the middle spear.
Step 1: The middle spear
In the middle of your paper draw one tall fat spear standing up, with a pointed bud on top.
Tip Fat at the bottom, narrower at the top, like a tall pencil.
Step 2: Two big eyes
Halfway down the middle spear draw 2 big egg eyes, a gap between. Colour a big black dot in each.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a wide U smile from eye to eye, with a small oval cheek beside each end.
Step 4: Left spear
On the left draw a second spear, shorter and thinner, leaning out left, tucked behind the middle one.
Step 5: Right spear
Do the same on the right: a shorter thin spear leaning out to the right, tucked behind the middle one.
Step 6: The band
Low down, draw a curved band round all 3 spears, from the left spear's outside to the right spear's.
Step 7: Bud scales
On each bud draw little upside-down V marks, one above another: 3 on the middle spear, 2 on each side.
Tip Tiny roof shapes, each smaller than the bud.
Step 8: The ground
Draw a long ground line under the spears, touching their bottoms and stopping a little way from each edge.
Step 9: Pink cheeks, purple band
Go over your lines, then colour the cheeks pink and the band purple.
Step 10: Green spears
Colour the 3 spears green, going around the band and cheeks. Leave the eyes white, and your asparagus is done!
