How to Draw an Arizona Flag
Draw an arizona flag in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the flag pole.
Step 1: The flag pole
On the left draw a tall thin pole from near the bottom to near the top. Add a ball.
Step 2: The waving flag
Start on the pole below the ball. Wave the top edge out to the right, come down, and wave back.
Step 3: One big star
In the very middle of the flag draw 1 big star with 5 points.
Tip Start with the top point, then make all 5 points the same size.
Step 4: The middle line
Start at the pole, draw a wavy line across the middle, behind the star, and stop at the right edge.
Tip This line cuts the flag into a top half and a bottom half.
Step 5: Rays going up
From the star draw 4 straight lines up to the top edge, spreading out like a fan.
Step 6: More rays
Start at the star and draw 2 more lines each side. Stop at the top edge.
Tip Keep the gaps between the lines about the same.
Step 7: Side rays
Start at the star and draw 2 lines out each side. Stop at the side edges, above the middle line.
Tip Count the rays in the top half: there are 13.
Step 8: Wind lines
Off the right edge of the flag draw 3 short wind lines.
Step 9: Ground line
Draw a long flat ground line under the pole, from the left side to the right side.
Step 10: Yellow ball, grey pole
Colour the ball on top of the pole yellow and the pole grey.
Step 11: Yellow rays
Colour every second ray yellow, 6 in all. Leave the first ray by the pole white.
Tip Yellow, skip one, yellow, skip one, all the way round.
Step 12: Copper star
Colour the star orange brown, like a shiny copper penny.
Step 13: Red rays
Colour the other 7 rays red, so red and yellow take turns.
Tip The ray pointing straight up is red.
Step 14: Blue bottom half
Colour the bottom half blue, around the star. Go over your lines. Your Arizona flag is waving!
