How to Draw the Arc de Triomphe
Draw the Arc de Triomphe in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the big block.
Step 1: The big block
In the middle of your paper draw a big standing box from the ground up, a little taller than wide.
Step 2: The top slab
On top draw a flat slab a bit wider than the block. Rule a line across the block and slab.
Step 3: The great arch
In the middle of the block draw a huge arch: up from the bottom, over like a rainbow, back down.
Tip Go straight up, over in a round half circle, and straight down, so the top is as wide as the sides.
Step 4: Carved panels
On each side of the arch draw a standing box high up, and a taller standing box below it.
Step 5: Carved statues
In each tall box draw a little statue: a round head and a rounded body, standing on the box's bottom.
Step 6: Little side arches
Low on each side, under the statues, draw a small arched opening standing on the bottom line.
Step 7: The flag
Near the arch top rule a rod that joins both sides. Hang a flag from it with 2 stripe lines.
Step 8: The ground
Draw a long ground line under the block, from near the left edge to near the right edge.
Step 9: The sun
Draw a sun high on the right with short rays all round.
Step 10: A cloud
Draw a puffy cloud high on the left: little bumps over the top and a flatter line underneath.
Step 11: Cream stone
Colour the block and slab cream, around the panels and arches. Colour the panels grey.
Step 12: Sun and sky
Colour the sun yellow and inside all 3 arches sky blue, around the flag. Leave the cloud white.
Step 13: Blue and red flag
Colour the flag's left stripe blue and right stripe red, leaving the middle white. Your Arc de Triomphe is done!
