How to Draw Anime Eyes
Draw anime eyes in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: soft top lids.
Step 1: Soft top lids
Left of the middle draw a thick curved eyelid, thin at the inside end. Draw another on the right.
Tip Anime eyes are tall, so leave lots of room under each lid.
Step 2: Eye outline
From the thick end of each lid, draw a tall egg curve down and round, up to the thin end.
Step 3: Tall irises
Draw a tall egg in each eye for the iris, tucked under the lid and nearly touching the bottom.
Step 4: Tall pupils
Inside each iris draw a tall thin egg for the pupil. Colour it black.
Step 5: Big shines
Draw a big circle high on the outer side of each iris, and a small one low inside.
Tip The big shine is what makes anime eyes sparkle.
Step 6: Lashes
At the thick end of each lid draw 2 eyelashes. Start on the lid and flick out and up.
Step 7: Leaf eyebrows
Above each eye, draw a long leaf eyebrow, pointed at both ends and sweeping in toward the middle.
Step 8: Purple irises
Colour the irises purple around the pupils. Leave the shines and the whites of the eyes white.
Step 9: Brown eyebrows
Colour the leaf eyebrows brown, right out to their pointed ends.
Step 10: Black lids
Colour the thick lids black. Go over your lines and your anime eyes are done.
