How to Draw an Angelfish
Draw an angelfish in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: tall round body.
Step 1: Tall round body
Start left of the middle. Draw a big rainbow and an upside-down one below, leaving gaps at both ends.
Tip Leave room on the right for the tail, and above and below for the sails.
Step 2: Eye and kissy lips
Close the front gap with puffy kissy lips. Draw one huge round eye behind them, with a dot and shine.
Step 3: Bow-tie tail
From the end of the back, draw a fat C lobe, stopping at the neck. Add a smaller C below.
Step 4: Big top sail
Start above the eye. Sweep a pointed sail up past the tail, then down to the back. Add 2 rays.
Step 5: Side fin
Behind the eye, in the middle of the body, draw a small teardrop fin pointing back.
Step 6: Bottom sail
Start below the eye. Sweep a pointed sail down past the tail, then up to the belly. Add 2 rays.
Step 7: Two stripes
Draw 2 stripes straight down the body, one each side of the side fin. Make each stripe 2 close lines.
Step 8: Bubbles
In front of the lips, draw 3 bubbles floating up in a gentle curve, small to big.
Step 9: Sand and seaweed
Draw a wavy sand line right across the bottom. Add 2 seaweed blades on the left, one on the right.
Step 10: Yellow fins, blue bubbles
Colour the tail, both sails and the side fin yellow, and the bubbles light blue.
Step 11: Sandy floor, grey body
Colour the floor sandy. Colour the body and lips grey around the side fin, leaving the eye and stripes white.
Step 12: Green seaweed, black stripes
Colour the seaweed green and the 2 stripes black.
