How to Draw a Wolf Pup Jumping

14 steps · Medium · about 11 min

Draw a wolf pup jumping in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: head and snout.

Print

  1. Step 1: Head and snout

On the right draw a big round head. Let a short snout poke out low on its right side.

Tip Leave lots of room on the left for the body.

  2. Step 2: Nose and smile

Start on top of the snout, curve down and stop under it. Add a black nose and a smile.

Tip The curved line keeps the snout apart from the cheek.

  3. Step 3: Pointed ears

On top of the head draw a tall pointed ear with a middle. Peek a second ear out behind it.

  4. Step 4: Big eye

In the middle of the head draw 1 big oval eye with a black dot inside.

Tip Leave a tiny white shine in the black dot.

  5. Step 5: Fluffy cheek

Low on the back of the head draw 2 soft fur points, for a fluffy cheek.

Tip Start and stop on the head line.

  6. Step 6: Arched back

Start on the back of the head. Draw a long arched back to the left, curl down and stop.

Tip The back is one smooth hill, highest in the middle.

  7. Step 7: Reaching front leg

Start under the head. Draw a leg down to a bent elbow, then forward to a round paw and back.

Tip The leg is fat at the top and thin at the paw.

  8. Step 8: Tummy and back leg

Start at the front leg. Draw the tummy, then a back leg kicking out behind. Stop at the back.

Tip The back leg zigzags: down, back, then a paw.

  9. Step 9: Far legs

Above each leg draw 1 thinner leg peeking out behind the body, with a bend and a paw.

Tip Start and stop each far leg on the body.

  10. Step 10: Bushy tail

From the back end draw a bushy tail up to a pointed tip. Come back down in 3 soft bumps.

Tip Make the tail thin at the body and fat in the middle.

  11. Step 11: Toes and tummy

Draw 2 toe lines on each big paw and 1 on each small paw. Add a curved tummy line.

Tip The tummy line starts and stops on the bottom of the body.

  12. Step 12: Whoosh lines

Under the pup draw 3 short curved lines, to show it is jumping through the air.

  13. Step 13: Cream bits

Colour the snout, the ear middle and the tummy patch cream.

  14. Step 14: Grey fur

Colour the 2 far legs dark grey. Colour the rest of the fur light grey. Leave the eye white.
