How to Draw a Skeleton Cat

14 steps · Medium · about 11 min

Draw a skeleton cat in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: cat skull.

Print

  1. Step 1: Cat skull

On the left, draw a round head with 2 pointy ears and a little snout bump low on the left.

Tip The cat looks a little to the left, so its snout pokes out that way.

  2. Step 2: Two big eyes

Draw 2 tall oval eyes, the left one thinner. Put a black dot and a white shine in each.

Tip Big eyes make a skeleton cute, not spooky.

  3. Step 3: Nose and teeth

On the snout, draw a tiny upside-down heart nose. Under it draw a smile shape with 3 tooth lines.

  4. Step 4: Shoulder and hip

Draw 2 oval bones at the same height: one just behind the head, one far to the right.

Tip Leave a wide gap between them for the arched back.

  5. Step 5: Arched spine

Start behind the head. Draw a thick band through the first oval, up in an arch, down to the second.

Tip The top of the arch is as high as the ears.

  6. Step 6: Rib cage

Under the arch, hang 3 ribs from the spine. Each one is the same long C, curling towards the head.

Tip Leave a gap between the ribs.

  7. Step 7: Front legs

Under the shoulder oval draw 2 legs: a bone with a round knob, a thinner bone, then a paw.

Tip The knob is the elbow. The leg bends there.

  8. Step 8: Back legs

From the hip oval, draw 2 more legs the same way: top bone, round knee knob, thin bone, paw.

Tip All 4 paws stop at the same height and point to the left.

  9. Step 9: Bony tail

From the hip oval, draw a long tail that curves up high and gets thinner to its tip.

  10. Step 10: Bone joints

Draw 4 short lines across the spine and 3 across the tail to show the little bones.

Tip Each line goes from one edge of the bone to the other.

  11. Step 11: The ground

Start left of the paws. Draw a straight line under all 4 paws and stop on the right.

  12. Step 12: Sand skull and spine

Colour the skull, spine, ovals, ribs and tail a sandy colour. Go around the eyes, nose and teeth.

  13. Step 13: Sand legs

Colour all the leg bones and paws the same sandy colour.

  14. Step 14: Green eyes

Colour the eyes green around the black dots, and the nose grey. Leave the teeth white.
