How to Draw Waffles
Draw waffles in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: top waffle.
Step 1: Top waffle
Draw a big square lying flat: a short top line, a longer bottom line, leaning sides and soft corners.
Tip The back edge is shorter because it is further away.
Step 2: Waffle side
Start at the front left corner. Draw a short line down, across the bottom and up to the right corner.
Step 3: Second waffle
Start low on the left side. Draw another thin side just below, stopping low on the right side.
Step 4: A pat of butter
In the middle of the top draw a small cube of butter: a tilted diamond top with 2 faces below.
Step 5: Back pockets
Along the back of the top draw a row of 4 soft squares with gaps between them.
Step 6: Middle pockets
Under them draw a second row of 4 squares, a little bigger. The middle 2 hide behind the butter.
Step 7: Front pockets
Draw the front row of 4 squares, the biggest. Leave a gap before the front edge.
Step 8: Syrup drips
Along the front edge draw a band of syrup with 5 fat U drips hanging down over the sides.
Tip Make some drips long and some short.
Step 9: A plate
Start at the left of the bottom waffle. Draw a wide oval plate round behind the stack and under it.
Step 10: Yellow butter, sky plate
Go over your lines. Colour the butter yellow and the plate sky blue, around the waffles.
Step 11: Tan waffles
Colour both waffles tan, top and sides, around the butter, the pockets and the syrup.
Step 12: Brown pockets
Colour all 12 pockets light brown.
Step 13: Dark syrup
Colour the syrup and its drips dark brown to finish your waffles.
