How to Draw a Tuna
Draw a tuna in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: eye and pointy nose.
Step 1: Eye and pointy nose
Draw an eye on the left. In front draw a pointy nose, starting high and ending low, with a smile.
Step 2: Torpedo body
Start at the nose top. Draw a long rainbow back; stop at the neck. Match the belly below.
Tip A tuna is a torpedo: fattest near the front.
Step 3: Moon tail
Close the neck with a curve. From its top, draw a lobe up, then a lobe down to its bottom.
Step 4: Pointy back fins
Start on the back behind the eye. Draw a tall pointy sail; stop on the back. Add a tiny fin.
Step 5: Gill
A finger behind the eye, start below the back. Draw a short C toward the tail; stop above the belly.
Step 6: Long side fin
Behind the gill, below the middle, start on the fish. Draw a long leaf pointing back; end at its base.
Step 7: Tiny finlets
Near the tail draw 3 tiny round bumps along the back. Do the same along the belly.
Tip Finlets are the tiny fins tuna have near the tail.
Step 8: Side line
Start at the mouth corner. Draw a long gentle line back under the eye, and stop at the tail.
Step 9: Bubbles
In front of the mouth draw 3 bubbles floating up, small to big.
Step 10: Sand and seaweed
Draw a wavy sand line along the bottom. Grow 3 pointy seaweed blades up from it.
Step 11: Yellow fins, sandy floor
Colour the tail, fins and finlets yellow. Colour the sand sandy, right to the paper's edges.
Step 12: Blue bubbles, green seaweed
Colour the bubbles light blue and the seaweed green.
Step 13: Navy back, silver belly
Colour above the side line navy blue. Colour below it silver grey, around the side fin. Leave the eye white.
