How to Draw a Whale Face
Draw a whale face in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big bean body.
Step 1: Big bean body
Draw a big bean lying on its side across the page, round and blunt at the front on the left.
Step 2: Tail and flukes
Start near the end of the back. Curve a thick tail up to 2 flukes, then down to the tummy.
Tip Rub out the body line inside the tail.
Step 3: One big eye
Near the front, above the middle, draw one big round eye with a black dot and a shine.
Tip Leave the eye white around the dot.
Step 4: Long smile
Start on the front edge below the eye. Draw a long smile back, curling up just past the eye.
Step 5: Belly line
Start on the front edge under the smile. Draw a long curve along the tummy, stopping at the tail.
Step 6: Side flipper
Start on the belly line behind the smile. Sweep a flipper back past the tummy, and up to the line.
Tip Rub out the lines inside the flipper.
Step 7: Belly grooves
Inside the belly, in front of the flipper, draw 2 long curved lines, one above the other, touching no line.
Step 8: Water spout
Start on top of the head. Draw a spout going up and splashing down both ways. Stop on the head.
Step 9: Cream belly, sky spout
Colour the belly cream on both sides of the flipper. Colour the spout light sky blue.
Step 10: Rosy cheek
Colour a small oval of pink on the cheek, just above the end of the smile.
Step 11: Colour the whale blue
Go over your lines. Colour the whale blue, around the belly and the cheek. Leave the eye white.
