How to Draw a Therizinosaurus
Draw a therizinosaurus in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: small beaky head.
Step 1: Small beaky head
Near the top left draw a small head like an egg lying down. The thin end points left.
Tip Keep the head small and leave lots of room below.
Step 2: Big eye
Near the fat end draw a big oval eye with a black dot and shine. Dot a nostril.
Step 3: Beak and smile
Curve a line down the thin end for a beak. From its tip draw a smile, stop under the eye.
Tip No teeth: this dinosaur has a beak for eating leaves.
Step 4: Long neck and tail
Start behind the head. Draw a long neck, a round back and a fat tail. Stop under the bottom.
Step 5: Throat and pot belly
Start under the head. Draw down the neck and round a big pot belly. Stop under the belly.
Tip Rub out the head line inside the neck.
Step 6: Big front leg
Where the belly stops draw a round thigh like an egg. Draw a leg down from it to 3 toes.
Step 7: Tummy
Start at the back of the thigh. Draw one short saggy curve back and stop where the tail line ended.
Step 8: Back leg and ground
Start behind the thigh. Draw a back leg peeking out, down to 3 toes, and up to the tummy.
Tip Then draw a long ground line under both feet.
Step 9: Long arm
Start on the chest. Draw a bent arm that gets thinner, round a small hand, and stop on the chest.
Tip The arm bends down at the elbow.
Step 10: Three huge claws
From the hand draw 3 huge curved claws, spread out like a fan. Each one ends in a sharp point.
Tip These are the longest claws of any animal ever!
Step 11: Tummy patch
Start under the jaw. Draw a long curve down the neck and belly and stop on the thigh.
Step 12: Cream claws, tan tummy
Colour the 3 claws cream. Then colour the beak and the tummy patch tan.
Step 13: Colour it brown
Colour the head, neck, body, tail, legs and arm brown, around the beak, patch and claws. Leave the eye white.
