How to Draw a Tambourine
Draw a tambourine in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the ring.
Step 1: The ring
In the middle draw one big round circle for the tambourine, about as wide as your hand.
Step 2: The skin
Draw a smaller circle inside, a finger in all the way round, for a thick hoop around the skin.
Step 3: Two big eyes
On the skin, above the middle, draw 2 big egg eyes, with a black dot and white shine in each.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a wide U smile from eye to eye. Add a small flat cheek beside each end.
Step 5: Top jingles
On the top half, draw 3 windows: 2 short lines across the hoop, 2 overlapping round jingles between.
Step 6: Bottom jingles
Do the same on the bottom half: 3 more windows, each with 2 overlapping jingles.
Step 7: Shake lines
On each side, a little way out from the hoop, draw one curved shake line that follows its curve.
Step 8: Music notes
Low down on each side draw a music note: a round head, a straight stem up and a little flag.
Step 9: Yellow jingles
Colour all the little round jingles yellow.
Step 10: Pink cheeks, blue notes
Colour the cheeks pink and the notes blue.
Step 11: Wood hoop
Colour the hoop wood brown around the jingles. Leave the skin and eyes white, and your tambourine is done!
