How to Draw a Tamandua
Draw a tamandua in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: head and snout.
Step 1: Head and snout
On the left, draw a round head that stretches into a thick snout, pointing down and getting thinner.
Tip The snout is about as long as the head is wide.
Step 2: Nose, smile and eye
Colour a black nose on the tip, with a short smile behind it. Add 1 big eye in the head.
Step 3: Small ear
Draw a small upright ear on top at the back of the head. Draw a little oval inside it.
Step 4: Long body
Start behind the ear. Draw a long bean body with a round back and tummy. Stop under the head.
Step 5: Front leg
Start on the chest under the head. Draw a thick leg down to a round paw. Stop on the tummy.
Tip Rub out the tummy line inside the leg.
Step 6: Back leg
Start on the tummy near the back. Draw a leg bending down to a round paw. Stop on the rump.
Tip Rub out the body line inside the leg.
Step 7: Far legs
Draw 2 far legs peeking out between the near legs, each half hidden behind a near leg.
Step 8: Toes and ground
Add 2 short toe lines on each near paw. Draw a long ground line under all 4 paws.
Step 9: Long curly tail
From the rump, draw a long tail down to the ground, getting thinner, with the tip curled up.
Step 10: The vest
Draw 2 curved lines from the back down to the tummy, one behind the head, one before the back leg.
Step 11: Pink ear and cheek
Go over your lines, then colour the inside of the ear and a small cheek spot pink.
Step 12: Sandy coat
Colour the head, ear, body, near legs and tail sandy yellow, around the pink. Leave the eye and vest white.
Step 13: Brown and black
Colour the 2 far legs brown and the vest in the middle of the body black.
