How to Draw a T. Rex Vs Triceratops
Draw a t. rex vs triceratops in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: t. rex head.
Step 1: T. rex head
At the top left, draw a big bean head pointing right, with a bump for the snout.
Tip Keep it in the top left. The triceratops needs the whole right side.
Step 2: T. rex eye
High on the head, draw a big oval eye with a black dot and shine. Dot a nostril.
Step 3: Toothy grin
Start at the snout. Draw a long smile and stop under the eye. Hang 4 pointy teeth from it.
Tip A smile makes him friendly, not scary.
Step 4: Body and tail
Start behind the head. Draw down the back, along a fat pointed tail, and back round the tummy.
Tip The tail is fat at the body and thin at the tip.
Step 5: Big leg
Draw a ground line. On the hip, draw a fat round thigh, a thick leg and a long foot.
Tip Add 2 short toe lines on the front of the foot to make 3 toes.
Step 6: Back leg
In front of the big leg, draw the other leg peeking out from under the tummy, with its foot.
Tip Only the lower part shows. The rest is hidden behind the big leg.
Step 7: Tiny arm
From the chest, draw a tiny arm reaching forward. Bend it at the elbow and give it 2 fingers.
Tip The arm grows out of the chest line, so there is no line across its top.
Step 8: Triceratops head
On the right, low down, draw a big egg head lying on its side, with a small beak.
Tip The two dinosaurs face each other, nose to nose.
Step 9: Frill and horns
Draw a big round frill behind the head. Add 2 long brow horns and a short nose horn.
Tip The frill is as big as the head, like a round shield. Each horn starts and stops on the head line.
Step 10: Eye and smile
Draw an oval eye with a black dot. For the smile, start at the beak and stop under the eye.
Step 11: Round body, tail
Start on the frill. Draw a round back, a short pointed tail, and a tummy back to the head.
Tip The back is highest just behind the frill.
Step 12: Four legs
Draw 2 thick legs with round feet. Add 2 more peeking out in front of them, and toe lines.
Tip Each leg is a little thinner just above the foot. Leave a gap under the tummy.
Step 13: Yellow frill, orange body
Colour the frill yellow. Colour the triceratops orange. Leave the 3 horns and the eye white.
Step 14: Green T. rex
Colour the T. rex green all over. Leave his eye and teeth white. Your dinosaurs are done!
Tip Go over your lines first.
