How to Draw a Space Probe
Draw a space probe in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the ringed planet.
Step 1: The ringed planet
In the bottom right corner draw a round planet with a tilted ring that crosses in front. Add a band.
Tip The back of the ring hides behind the planet.
Step 2: The probe body
In the upper left draw a rounded box for the probe's body.
Step 3: A friendly face
In the box draw a round face. Give it 2 eyes with black dots, a smile and 2 pink cheeks.
Step 4: The big dish
Draw a post and a BIG dish on the body. From the dish rule a line up to a tip.
Tip The dish is a flat oval, bigger than the body, with a bowl underneath.
Step 5: The long boom
From the body's right side rule one LONG thin bar up to a small ball. Add 3 ticks across it.
Step 6: Solar panel and thruster
From the left side draw a short rod to a solar panel of 6 squares. Add a cup below.
Step 7: Four big stars
Draw 4 big stars in the empty space around the probe and the planet.
Step 8: Yellow stars and ring
Colour the 4 stars and the ends of the ring yellow. Leave the face, the eyes and the dish white.
Step 9: Tan planet
Colour the whole planet tan.
Step 10: Grey parts
Colour the post, the tip, the boom and its ball, the rod and the cup grey.
Step 11: Gold body, blue panel
Colour the body ginger gold around the face, and the solar panel blue. Go over your lines.
