How to Draw a Sitting Person
Draw a sitting person in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: head and ears.
Step 1: Head and ears
Draw an egg head near the top. Add a C ear on each side, starting and stopping on the head.
Tip Leave the lower half of the page for the body and bench.
Step 2: The face
Draw 2 big eyes with a shine, a small nose and a smile.
Step 3: Soft hair cap
Start on the left of the head. Draw tufts over the top and stop on the right. Add a hairline.
Step 4: Neck and T-shirt
Draw 2 short neck lines. From them draw a short-sleeved T-shirt down to a flat bottom.
Step 5: A stripe
Draw 2 lines across the middle of the T-shirt, from side to side, for a stripe.
Step 6: Arms
From each sleeve's outer corner, draw a line down beside the T-shirt. Stop just below its bottom.
Tip The side of the T-shirt is the inside of the arm, so leave no gap.
Step 7: Mitten hands
Start at the T-shirt's bottom corner. Draw a round mitten with a thumb pointing in, and stop on the arm.
Step 8: Knees
From wrist to wrist, draw 2 round knees peeking out around the hands. Add a middle line.
Step 9: Legs
Start under each knee and draw 2 lines down, wide at the knee, and stop at a narrow ankle.
Step 10: Bench
Behind the knees and legs draw a long thin seat. From each end draw a bench leg to the ground.
Step 11: Shoes and ground
Under each leg draw a shoe with the toe pointing out. Draw a long ground line under them.
Step 12: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Colour the face, ears, neck, arms and hands peach, with a pink circle on each cheek. Keep the eyes white.
Step 13: Green T-shirt, blue trousers
Colour the T-shirt green, leaving the stripe white. Colour the knees and legs blue.
Step 14: Brown hair, red shoes
Colour the shoes red, then colour the hair and the bench brown.
