How to Draw a Shih Tzu
Draw a shih tzu in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top of your paper draw a big oval, a little wider than tall. It is half the dog.
Tip Leave room underneath for the body and legs.
Step 2: Long silky ears
From each top corner, draw a long ear down past the chin, with 3 hairy bumps back to the cheek.
Step 3: Two big eyes
Across the middle of the head, draw 2 eggy eyes. Colour a big black dot in each.
Step 4: Topknot and bow
Start on top of the head. Draw a little hill of hair, stopping back on the head. Add a bow.
Step 5: Moustache and nose
Under the eyes draw a wide oval with 4 fluffy bumps along the bottom. Sit a black nose on top.
Step 6: Smile and tongue
From the nose draw a short line down to a little w smile. Hang a small tongue from it.
Step 7: The body
Start where the left ear meets the cheek. Draw a big C down to the bottom. Do the right too.
Tip The body is a bit wider than the head.
Step 8: Fluffy chest
Under the chin draw 3 big fluffy bumps from ear to ear, like a furry bib.
Step 9: Front legs
From the bib, draw 2 legs down that puff out into round paws. Add 2 toe lines on each.
Step 10: Back paws and tail
Draw back paws at the bottom corners, a fluffy tail curling up from the right hip, and a ground line.
Step 11: White fur
Colour the head, body, legs, paws and tail white, pressing lightly. Keep the eyes white.
Step 12: Tan ears
Colour the 2 long ears and the puff of hair on top tan, around the bow.
Step 13: Pink bow
Colour the bow and the tongue pink.
