How to Draw 3D Stairs
Draw 3D stairs in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the bottom step.
Step 1: The bottom step
Near the bottom of your paper, a little left, draw a wide flat rectangle. This is the bottom step.
Tip Stairs are boxes stacked up, each one set back a little.
Step 2: The first tread
From the top-left corner, draw a short slant up, a line across, and a slant down to the top-right corner.
Tip The slanted lines all lean the same way and are the same length.
Step 3: Two big eyes
On the front of the bottom step, draw 2 eggy eyes, one eye apart. Add black dots and shines.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Draw a U smile from under the left eye to under the right. Add an oval cheek beside each eye.
Step 5: The second step
On top of the tread, at its back edge, draw another rectangle the same size, with a slanted tread.
Step 6: The third step
On top of that tread, draw one more rectangle and one more slanted tread. That makes 3 steps.
Step 7: The side
Start at the top step's back corner. Draw straight down, then slant down and stop at the bottom step's corner.
Step 8: Sparkles on the left
On the left of the stairs, draw 2 small sparkle stars, one higher and one lower.
Step 9: Sparkles on the right
Draw 2 more small sparkle stars on the right to match.
Step 10: The floor
Draw a floor line under the stairs, from one edge of your paper to the other.
Step 11: Yellow sparkles, sky treads
Colour the 4 sparkles yellow and the 3 flat treads sky blue.
Step 12: Pink cheeks, teal fronts
Colour the cheeks pink. Colour the 3 step fronts teal, around the face. Leave the eyes white.
Step 13: Navy side
Colour the stepped side navy blue, so the stairs look solid. Go over your lines. Your stairs are done!
