How to Draw a Samurai Helmet
Draw a samurai helmet in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the bowl.
Step 1: The bowl
Start on the left, near the middle. Draw a dome up and over, down to the right. Close it underneath.
Step 2: The face
Start under the bowl, a little in from the corner. Draw down, round the chin, and stop at the bowl.
Step 3: Eyes and cheeks
Draw 2 big eyes near the top of the face, each with a dot and shine, and a cheek below.
Step 4: The neck guard
From the bowl's corner, draw 3 plates down each side like steps: slope out, then across to the face.
Tip Start each lower plate just under the corner of the one above.
Step 5: Side flaps
On each top corner of the neck guard, draw a rounded flap folding outwards over the corner.
Step 6: Moustache and smile
Under the eyes, draw a bow-shaped moustache with a dip in the middle, and a small U smile below.
Step 7: The horns
From the front of the bowl, draw 2 long horns sweeping up like a wide V, with a disc between.
Step 8: Ridges
On the bowl, draw a curved ridge line each side, from the brow up toward the top.
Step 9: Sparkles
Draw a small sparkle star off each side of the horns.
Step 10: Gold horns, peach face
Colour the horns, disc and sparkles yellow, and the face peach, leaving the eyes white and going around the cheeks.
Step 11: Pink cheeks, red guard
Colour the cheeks pink. Colour the neck guard plates and the side flaps red.
Step 12: Slate bowl, black moustache
Colour the bowl slate grey, around the horns and flaps, and the moustache black. Your samurai helmet is done!
