How to Draw a Rottweiler
Draw a Rottweiler in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top, draw a big oval, a little wider than tall. Make it big: almost half the dog.
Tip Leave room underneath for the body and legs.
Step 2: Folded triangle ears
Draw a small triangle ear folded down from the head line near the top, back to it. Do both sides.
Step 3: Eyes and brows
In the middle of the head, draw 2 big eyes with a dot and shine. Add a spot above each.
Tip The 2 eyebrow spots are the rottweiler's signature.
Step 4: Nose patch and nose
Under the eyes, draw a wide oval inside the head. Sit a rounded triangle nose on top, coloured black.
Step 5: Smile and tongue
From the nose, draw a short line down to a little w smile. Hang a U tongue below it.
Step 6: The body
From each side of the head, draw a big C down and out. Join the bottoms with a curve.
Step 7: Collar and tag
Under the chin, draw 2 sagging curves from left across to right. Hang a round tag in the middle.
Step 8: Front legs
From the collar, draw 2 legs down to paws and back up. Add a curve and 2 toes on each.
Tip Make each leg a little narrower just above its round paw.
Step 9: Back paws and tail
Draw a little hill paw at each bottom corner of the body. On the right, add a short thick tail.
Step 10: Chest spots and ground
Under the collar, draw 2 small triangle spots beside the tag. Draw a ground line under all 4 paws.
Step 11: Tan markings
Colour the nose patch, the eyebrow spots, the 2 chest spots and all 4 paws tan.
Step 12: Pink tongue, red collar
Colour the tongue pink and the collar red.
Step 13: Colour the fur black
Colour the head, ears, body, legs and tail black, around the tan, pink and red. Keep the eyes white.
Tip Press softly so your lines still show.
