How to Draw a Robot

11 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a robot in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: box head.

Print

  1. Step 1: Box head

Near the top, draw a wide box head with soft round corners, wider than it is tall.

  2. Step 2: Antenna and ear bolts

From the head top, draw a short line up to a ball. Add a small box bolt on each side.

  3. Step 3: Friendly face

Draw 2 big round black eyes with white shines. Add a U smile from under one eye to the other.

  4. Step 4: Neck and body

Start on the head. Draw a short box neck down to a big box body. Stop back on the head.

  5. Step 5: Chest dial

In the top of the body, draw one big circle dial. Add a middle dot and a short needle.

  6. Step 6: Control panel

Below the dial, draw 2 lines across the body. Start at one edge, stop at the other. Add 3 buttons.

  7. Step 7: Claw arms

From each side of the body, draw a slanted arm tube going down. Put a fat C claw on it.

  8. Step 8: Tracks and ground

Under the body, draw a long flat sausage with 3 wheels inside. Draw a ground line under it.

Tip The tracks are wider than the body.

  9. Step 9: Blue dial, grey metal

Colour the dial sky blue. Colour the head, bolts, neck, body, arms and claws grey around the dial and buttons.

  10. Step 10: Red lights

Colour the antenna ball and the 3 buttons red.

  11. Step 11: Dark tracks

Go over your lines. Colour the tracks dark grey, leaving the wheels white.
