How to Draw a Relay Baton
Draw a relay baton in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the baton.
Step 1: The baton
Draw a long tube: start top right, go along the top, round the left end and back along the bottom.
Tip Leave the right end open for now.
Step 2: The open end
Join the 2 right ends with a tall oval, so you can see into the tube.
Step 3: 2 big eyes
On the right half of the baton draw 2 big eyes. Colour a black dot in each, leaving a shine.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Draw a U smile from below one eye to below the other. Add a small oval cheek on each side.
Step 5: The fist
Start under the baton on the left. Go up, over 4 knuckle bumps, and stop under the baton again.
Tip Rub out the baton lines inside the fist.
Step 6: The thumb
Start low on the left side. Draw a thumb across the fist, round its tip and back to the side.
Step 7: 4 fingers
From each dip between the bumps draw a line down to split 4 fingers. Stop at the thumb.
Step 8: The cuff
Under the wrist draw a short cuff, a soft rectangle a little wider than the wrist.
Step 9: Sparkles
Draw 3 little 4-point sparkles in the space around the baton, not touching it.
Step 10: Yellow and pink
Colour the sparkles yellow. Colour the cheeks and the open end of the baton pink.
Step 11: Peach fist, blue cuff
Colour the fist and the thumb peach, and the cuff blue.
Step 12: Red baton
Go over your lines, then colour the baton red around the eyes and cheeks. Leave the eyes white.

Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a relay baton, drawn by you.
