How to Draw Quotation Marks
Draw quotation marks in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the first circle.
Step 1: The first circle
Left of the middle draw a big circle for the top of the first mark.
Tip Quotation marks are twins, like 2 fat commas side by side.
Step 2: A fat tail
From the circle's right side curl a fat tail down left, back to its bottom. Rub out the line inside.
Step 3: Big eyes
On the circle draw 2 round eyes close together. Colour a big black dot in each.
Step 4: A smile
Under the eyes draw a small U smile, from under the left eye to under the right eye.
Step 5: The second circle
Right of the first mark, a small gap away, draw a second circle just as big.
Step 6: The twin tail
From its right side curl the same fat tail down left, back to its bottom. Rub out the line inside.
Step 7: Sparkles on the left
On the left of the marks draw 2 sparkle stars, one higher and one lower.
Step 8: Sparkles on the right
Draw 2 more sparkle stars on the right to match.
Step 9: Yellow sparkles
Go over your lines, then colour the 4 sparkles yellow.
Step 10: Teal quotation marks
Colour both marks teal, around the face. Leave the eyes white. Your quotation marks are done!
