How to Draw a Pontoon Boat
Draw a pontoon boat in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the waves.
Step 1: The waves
Start at the left edge, below the middle. Draw wave bumps across to the right edge. Add ripples under it.
Step 2: Two tube floats
Draw a long fat sausage dipping into the waves, nearly as wide as the paper. Add another behind, higher up.
Tip A pontoon boat is a flat deck on 2 fat tubes.
Step 3: Flat deck
On top of the tubes draw one long thin flat plank, poking over both ends.
Step 4: Railing and flag
On the front deck draw 3 posts. Draw 2 rails from the first across to the last. Add a flag.
Step 5: Canopy on posts
Draw 2 tall posts on the back deck. Draw a thin flat roof from one post across to the other.
Tip The posts are taller than the railing. Keep the roof thin and level.
Step 6: The helm
Right of the railing draw a short fat post. Put a round wheel on top with 3 spokes.
Step 7: Captain's head and cap
Right of the wheel, higher up, draw a big round head with a cap on top, its peak pointing left.
Step 8: Captain's face
In the head draw 2 big black oval eyes, each with a white shine. Add a smile.
Step 9: Body and arm
From the deck draw a shirt over 2 shoulders, down to the deck. Add a bent arm gripping the wheel.
Tip The wheel rim disappears behind the round fist.
Step 10: Bench seat
Between the canopy posts draw a bench: start on the deck, up across a flat cushion, down to the deck.
Step 11: Peach face, tan deck
Go over your lines. Colour the face and fist peach and the deck tan.
Step 12: Grey tubes, blue sea
Colour the tubes and wheel post grey, and the sea blue around the tubes.
Step 13: Blue canopy, red captain
Colour the canopy blue, and the cap, shirt, arm and flag red. Leave the bench white. Ready for the lake!
