How to Draw a Penguin on Ice
Draw a penguin on ice in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big head.
Step 1: Big head
On the left of your paper, above the middle, draw a big egg, a little wider near the bottom.
Tip Make it big. Leave room on the right for a long body.
Step 2: White face
Start on the left cheek. Draw a big upside-down U a thumb inside the head line, ending on the right.
Tip Keep the black band the same thickness, like the hood of a coat.
Step 3: The beak
In the lower half of the white face draw a small rounded triangle beak, point down.
Step 4: 2 big eyes
Above the beak draw 2 big egg eyes with a gap between, each with a big black dot and shine.
Step 5: 3 hairs
Start on top of the head. Draw 3 short hairs sticking up, one straight and one leaning out each side.
Step 6: Sliding body
Start high on the head's right side. Draw a long hill, round the far end, flat back to the head.
Tip The back grows out of the head like a slide: no gap, no bump.
Step 7: The tummy
Start on the head below the right cheek. Draw a long gentle curve along the body, stopping at the end.
Tip Everything under this line is the white tummy it slides on.
Step 8: The flipper
From under the right cheek, draw a flipper lying back along the tummy, ending in a round tip.
Tip Rub out the tummy line inside the flipper.
Step 9: 2 webbed feet
At the far end draw a wide foot out right with 3 round toes. Draw another just above, half hidden.
Step 10: Ice floe
Start under the chin. Draw a thick ice slab: left, down, along under the tummy, and up to the feet.
Step 11: Orange beak, blue ice
Colour the beak and feet orange, and the ice floe light blue.
Step 12: Black penguin
Colour the head, the body above the tummy line and the flipper black. Leave the face, eyes and tummy white.
