How to Draw a Beauceron

14 steps · Medium · about 11 min

Draw a beauceron in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big egg head.

Print

  1. Step 1: Big egg head

Near the top left draw a big egg head, wide on top and a little narrower at the chin.

Tip The head is almost as long as the body. Leave room on the right.

  2. Step 2: Folded ears

On each top corner of the head draw a short ear that folds over and hangs to a soft point.

Tip The ears are short flaps. They stop beside the eyes.

  3. Step 3: Big eyes

On the middle of the head, a little to the left, draw 2 big oval eyes with black dots.

Tip Leave a tiny white shine in each eye.

  4. Step 4: Long snout

Under the left eye draw a long snout past the chin. From its black nose, draw down to a w.

Tip Rub out the head line inside the snout.

  5. Step 5: Neck and back

Start beside the right ear. Draw down the neck, along the back and round the bottom. Stop below the chin.

Tip The line dips down the neck, then runs almost flat.

  6. Step 6: Front leg

Draw a ground line. From under the chin, draw a long leg down to a plump paw, then back up.

Tip The leg gets thinner near the paw.

  7. Step 7: Tummy and back leg

From the front leg draw the tummy. Then a round thigh down to a paw and up to the bottom.

Tip The back leg bends just above the paw.

  8. Step 8: Far legs

Under the tummy draw 2 more legs peeking out: one leaning back, one leaning forward.

Tip Only part of each far leg shows. All 4 paws sit on the ground.

  9. Step 9: Toes

On each big paw draw 2 short curved toe lines. Draw 1 on each small paw.

  10. Step 10: Long hooked tail

Behind the bottom, draw a long tail hanging down. Hook the thin tip up like a letter J.

Tip The tail reaches as low as the bend in the back leg.

  11. Step 11: Sock lines

Draw a short curved line across each of the 4 legs, a little above the paw, for socks.

Tip A beauceron is called red stockings because of its rust socks.

  12. Step 12: Eyebrow spots

Draw a small oval eyebrow spot a finger above each eye.

  13. Step 13: Rust markings

Colour the snout, the 2 eyebrow spots and all 4 socks brown.

  14. Step 14: Colour the fur black

Colour the rest of the dog black, around the brown patches. Leave the eyes white.
