How to Draw a Husky

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw a husky in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.

Print

  1. Step 1: The head

Near the top of your paper draw a big oval head, a little wider than tall. Make it big!

Tip The head is almost half the husky. Leave room below for the body.

  2. Step 2: Pointy ears

On each top corner of the head draw a tall pointy ear leaning out. Add a smaller triangle inside.

Tip Husky ears stand straight up, thick and furry, with a soft point.

  3. Step 3: Two big eyes

At the middle of the head draw 2 egg eyes. Add a smaller circle inside each, with a black dot.

Tip Ice-blue eyes are the husky's signature.

  4. Step 4: Snout and nose

Under the eyes draw a wide oval inside the head. Sit a black triangle nose on top, point down.

  5. Step 5: Smile and tongue

From the nose tip draw a short line down into a little w. Hang a U tongue below its middle.

Tip The tongue pokes out below the oval. Rub out the line inside it.

  6. Step 6: The body

Start low on each cheek. Draw a big C down near the bottom. Join the ends with a saggy line.

Tip The body is a bit wider than the head.

  7. Step 7: Collar and tag

Under the chin draw 2 sagging curves from the left side across to the right. Hang a small circle tag.

  8. Step 8: Front legs

From the collar draw each leg down to a round paw and up to an arch under the tag.

Tip Leave a gap under the tag. Add 2 toe lines per paw and rub out the body line inside.

  9. Step 9: Back paws and tail

Draw a hill paw at each bottom corner of the body. From the right side draw a thick curling tail.

Tip Add 2 toe lines per paw. The tail is a big C.

  10. Step 10: Mask and ground

Start on the head's left side below the eyes. Draw 2 hills high over the eyes to the right side.

Tip Keep the mask line well above the eyes, with a soft dip between them. Add the ground line too.

  11. Step 11: White mask

Colour the face under the mask line white, so the grey cap sits on top like a hat.

  12. Step 12: Grey fur

Colour the cap above the mask line, the ears, the body sides and the tail grey.

Tip Leave the eyes, chest, legs and paws white.

  13. Step 13: Pink tongue, red collar

Colour the tongue pink and the collar red.
