How to Draw Neptune

10 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw Neptune in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the planet.

Print

  1. Step 1: The planet

In the middle of your paper, draw a big round planet that fills most of the page.

Tip The face goes on it, so make it big.

  2. Step 2: Two big eyes

Just below the planet's middle, draw 2 big egg eyes, a little apart, each with a black dot and shine.

  3. Step 3: A big smile

Under the eyes, draw a wide U smile from under the left eye across to under the right eye.

  4. Step 4: The big storm spot

On the top right of the planet, above the eye, draw a big tilted oval for Neptune's dark storm.

  5. Step 5: Cloud streaks

Draw 2 long thin wavy clouds with round ends, one near the top and one near the bottom.

Tip Keep them near the edge, away from the face.

  6. Step 6: Stars

Around the planet draw 4 small five-point stars, one near each corner.

  7. Step 7: Rosy cheeks

Beside each end of the smile, colour a small pink oval for a rosy cheek.

  8. Step 8: Stars and clouds

Go over your lines. Colour the 4 stars yellow and the 2 cloud streaks light blue.

  9. Step 9: Deep blue planet

Colour the planet deep blue, going around the cheeks, the storm spot and the clouds. Leave the eyes white.

  10. Step 10: Navy storm spot

Colour the storm spot navy, darker than the planet. Neptune is done!
