How to Draw a Monster Under the Bed

Step 1: Two bed posts

Draw a tall thin post on the left and a shorter one on the right. Top each with a ball.

Tip Stand both posts on the same level. Leave a wide gap between them.

Step 2: Side board

Halfway up, join the 2 posts with a long thin board.

Tip Keep the board high, so there is lots of room under the bed.

Step 3: Mattress

On top of the board, draw a long mattress with soft round corners, from post to post.

Step 4: Puffy pillow

At the tall post, draw a puffy pillow resting on the mattress.

Step 5: Blanket

Draw a blanket over the right half of the bed. It hangs down past the board in 5 soft waves.

Tip The blanket hides the mattress and the board, so rub those lines out inside it.

Step 6: Furry monster

Under the bed, draw a big furry hill sitting on the floor. Make it from 9 little bumps.

Tip Leave a gap between the monster and the bed above.

Step 7: Big friendly eyes

Draw 2 big round eyes on the monster. Put a black dot and a white shine in each.

Tip The eyes look up, as if the monster is peeking out.

Step 8: Smile and teeth

Under the eyes, draw a wide U smile. Sit 2 little round teeth on it.

Tip A big smile shows this monster is friendly.

Step 9: Little horns

On top of the monster, draw 2 small curved horns that lean outwards.

Step 10: Waving arm

On the right, draw an arm reaching up with a 3 finger hand. Draw a round paw on the floor.

Tip The monster is waving hello.

Step 11: The floor

Start at the left edge. Draw a straight floor line under the posts and the monster. Stop at the right.

Step 12: Cream and yellow

Colour the mattress cream and the 2 balls and 2 horns yellow. Leave the pillow, eyes and teeth white.

Step 13: Brown bed

Colour the 2 posts and the side board brown.

Step 14: Sky blue and purple

Colour the blanket sky blue. Colour the monster and its arms purple, around the eyes and teeth.
