How to Draw a Maze

10 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a maze in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: top and right walls.

Print

  1. Step 1: Top and right walls

Start a little in from the top-left corner. Draw across to the top-right, then down, stopping before the bottom.

  2. Step 2: Left and bottom walls

Start at the top-left corner. Draw down to the bottom-left, then across to the bottom-right. Leave both gaps open.

  3. Step 3: First inside walls

Start on the top wall by the gap. Draw a wall down, then across. Draw another from the left wall.

  4. Step 4: A zigzag wall

From the right wall draw a wall in, down, then in again like 3 stairs, stopping in the middle.

  5. Step 5: Short walls

Draw 4 short walls: one across, one down from the top, 2 up from the bottom. Each stops part way.

  6. Step 6: The path

Start above the top-left gap. Draw a path with round corners between the walls, stopping past the bottom-right gap.

  7. Step 7: Start and finish

At the start of the path draw a little round dot. At the end draw a 5-pointed star.

  8. Step 8: Sparkles

Draw 3 sparkle stars around the maze: 4 dots like a plus sign joined by curves that dip in.

  9. Step 9: Yellow star and sparkles

Go over your lines. Colour the star and the 3 sparkles yellow.

  10. Step 10: Sky path, red start

Colour a sky blue band along the path, then colour the start dot red. Your maze is done!
