How to Draw a Magnet
Draw a magnet in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the outside.
Step 1: The outside
Start low on the left. Draw a line up, a big upside-down U across, and down the right, stopping level.
Step 2: The inside
Start a thumb in from the bottom left. Draw a smaller upside-down U, leaving a thick top, and stop level.
Step 3: A happy face
In the middle of the top bend, draw 2 big round eyes with black dots, and a U smile below.
Step 4: Close the legs
At the bottom of each leg, draw a short flat line from the outside line across to the inside line.
Step 5: The tips
A thumb up from each bottom, start on the outside line and draw a short line across to the inside.
Step 6: Rosy cheeks
Draw a small oval cheek out beside each end of the smile.
Step 7: A shine
On the left of the bend, just inside the outside line, draw one short curve that follows the bend round.
Step 8: Zap lines
Under each tip, draw 3 short dashes fanning down, like the magnet is pulling.
Step 9: Grey tips, pink cheeks
Colour the 2 tips grey and the cheeks pink.
Step 10: Red horseshoe
Go over your lines, then colour the magnet red around the tips and cheeks. Leave the eyes white.

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a magnet, drawn by you.
