How to Draw a Lemon Shark

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw a lemon shark in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: broad blunt snout.

Print

  1. Step 1: Broad blunt snout

On the left, start high. Draw a flat top forward, round a blunt nose, and sweep back under, stopping lower.

Tip Wide and flat like a rounded brick.

  2. Step 2: One big eye

In the middle of the head, draw 1 big round eye. Fill it black with a white shine top left.

  3. Step 3: Back with 2 fins

From the top of the head, draw the back: a fin up and down, a flat bit, another fin. Stop.

Tip 2 back fins nearly the same size: that is a lemon shark.

  4. Step 4: Thick tail

Start on the neck. Swing up and back to a point, in to a notch, a shorter point, and stop.

Tip Stop under the neck: the tail is a sideways V with a soft notch.

  5. Step 5: Round tummy

Start at the chin. Draw 1 round sag under the body, fullest near the front, and stop under the tail.

  6. Step 6: Big smile

Draw the top lip from the nose to under the eye, then the bottom lip down to the chin.

Tip The bottom lip goes from that corner to the chin: a big open grin.

  7. Step 7: Teeth

Under the top lip, draw 3 round teeth: U shapes that start and stop on the lip.

  8. Step 8: Gills and stripe

Behind the eye, draw 4 short gill curves. From the smile corner, draw a stripe back, stopping on the tummy.

  9. Step 9: Side fin

From the stripe behind the gills, draw a side fin sweeping back to a round tip, then back up.

  10. Step 10: Bubbles

Just above the nose, draw 3 bubbles floating up: small, bigger, biggest.

  11. Step 11: Cream tummy, blue bubbles

Colour the tummy under the stripe cream, and the 3 bubbles light blue.

  12. Step 12: Pink mouth

Colour the inside of the smile pink, leaving the 3 teeth white.

  13. Step 13: Yellow-tan shark

Colour the rest of the shark yellow-tan, around the tummy and mouth. Leave the eye white.
