How to Draw a Laundry Hamper

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw a laundry hamper in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the hamper.

Print

  1. Step 1: The hamper

In the middle of your paper draw a tall box for the hamper, a little wider at the bottom.

  2. Step 2: Two big eyes

On the front of the hamper draw 2 big egg eyes close together. Colour a big black dot in each.

  3. Step 3: Smile and cheeks

Under the eyes draw a wide U smile, eye to eye, and a small flat cheek out beside each eye.

  4. Step 4: The rim

Across the top draw a flat band a little wider than the hamper, for the rim.

  5. Step 5: The lid

From behind the rim's right end draw the open lid: a long thin slab leaning up to the left.

  6. Step 6: The socks

Draw 3 socks spilling out: one hanging down the front left, and 2 poking up out of the top.

Tip Give each sock a round heel bump and a round toe.

  7. Step 7: Sock stripes

Near the toe of each sock draw a short curved line across for a stripe.

  8. Step 8: The weave

Under the rim draw 2 wavy lines from side to side, and one more near the bottom, for the weave.

  9. Step 9: Ground line

Start near the left edge. Draw a straight ground line under the hamper, stopping near the right edge.

  10. Step 10: Sparkles

Draw a few little 4-point sparkles around it to make it shine.

  11. Step 11: Pink cheeks, yellow sparkles

Go over your lines, then colour the cheeks pink and the sparkles yellow.

  12. Step 12: Sand hamper

Colour the hamper, rim and lid sand, around the cheeks and socks. Leave the eyes white.

  13. Step 13: Red and blue socks

Colour the hanging sock and the small sock red and the tall sock blue.
