How to Draw a Kraken
Draw a kraken in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the body.
Step 1: The body
Start low on the left. Draw a tall soft cone, widest low down. Stop low on the right.
Tip Make it tall, most of the page, with a soft top. The bottom stays open.
Step 2: Two fins
Start on each side near the top. Swoop a fin out to a round tip, then back to the body.
Step 3: Eyes and grin
Draw 2 big round eyes with dots and shines. Under them, draw a wide grin with 2 little fangs.
Step 4: The sea
Draw a wavy sea line right across the paper, through the 2 bottom ends of the body.
Tip The kraken is rising out of the water.
Step 5: Two big tentacles
Start on the sea beside the body. Draw a fat tentacle up to a curled tip. Stop on the sea.
Tip Fat at the water, thinner and thinner up to the curl.
Step 6: Two small tentacles
Near each edge, start on the sea. Draw a shorter tentacle that curls in. Stop back on the sea.
Step 7: Suckers
Draw 3 little circles up each big tentacle and 2 up each small one.
Step 8: Pink suckers
Colour all the little suckers pink.
Step 9: Blue sea
Colour the sea under the wavy line blue, right to the edges of the paper.
Step 10: Purple kraken
Colour the body, fins and tentacles purple, around the pink suckers. Leave the eyes and fangs white.
