How to Draw a Square
Draw a square in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: top and sides.
Step 1: Top and sides
Start on the left and draw a flat line. From each end, draw a line straight down, just as long.
Tip All 3 lines are the same length. Each corner is square, like the corner of a book.
Step 2: Bottom line
Start at the bottom of the left side and draw a flat line. Stop at the right side.
Tip A square has 4 sides, all the same length. Count them!
Step 3: Two big eyes
In the middle of the square, draw 2 big egg eyes side by side with a small gap.
Step 4: Shiny pupils
In each eye, colour a big black dot. Leave a little white shine in it.
Tip The shine is a tiny white dot at the top left of each black dot.
Step 5: Big smile
Leave a gap under the eyes, then draw a wide U smile from under one eye to the other.
Tip Keep the smile clear of the eyes, so the face has room.
Step 6: Rosy cheeks
Under the outside of each eye, clear of the smile, draw a small sideways oval for a cheek.
Step 7: Sparkles
On each side of the square, draw 2 sparkle stars: a big one high up and a small one lower.
Tip A sparkle star has 4 points: up, down, left and right.
Step 8: The floor
Along the bottom side, draw a floor line from far left to far right.
Step 9: Pink cheeks
Colour the 2 cheeks rosy pink.
Step 10: Yellow sparkles
Colour the 4 sparkles yellow.
Step 11: Orange square
Go over your lines and colour the square orange, around the pink cheeks. Leave the eyes white. You're done!
