How to Draw a Kitten
Draw a kitten in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top, draw a big sideways egg for the head, with soft chubby cheeks.
Tip The head is huge: almost half of the whole kitten.
Step 2: Pointy ears
On each side of the head, draw a tall pointy ear leaning out. Add a small triangle inside each.
Step 3: Two huge eyes
On the middle of the head, draw 2 huge oval eyes with big black dots and white shines.
Step 4: Nose and W smile
Under the eyes, draw an upside-down triangle nose and colour it in. Hang a wide W smile from its point.
Step 5: Round body
Start under each cheek. Curve down for a plump body and stop at the bottom middle.
Tip The body is a fat pear, never wider than the head.
Step 6: Front legs
From under the head, curve 2 legs down to mitten paws and back up. Add paw curves and toes.
Step 7: Banded tail
Start low on the right. Draw a fat tail curling up to a round tip. Add 4 lines across it.
Tip Rub out the body line where the tail joins on.
Step 8: Back paws and ground
Under each side, draw a plump bun back paw poking out. Add toe lines and a ground line.
Step 9: Whiskers
Draw 2 whiskers out from each cheek, starting a little way outside the face.
Step 10: Ball of yarn
Draw a yarn ball on the ground at the left. Add 2 wrap lines and a strand to the paw.
Step 11: White tummy, pink ears
Colour the tummy and all 4 paws white, and the inside of each ear pink. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Grey fur, dark bands
Colour the fur grey, around the eyes, nose, tummy, paws, ear insides and tail bands. Colour the bands dark grey.
Step 13: Blue yarn
Colour the ball of yarn blue.
