How to Draw a Jumping Spider
Draw a jumping spider in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big round head.
Step 1: Big round head
Below the middle of your paper, draw a big round head, wider than tall, like a bun. Make it big!
Step 2: Tummy and thread
Start on top of the head. Draw a small tummy bump peeking up, back to the head. Add the thread.
Step 3: Two huge eyes
In the middle of the head, draw 2 huge round eyes almost touching. Add a black dot and shine.
Step 4: Smile, fangs, cheeks
Start under the left eye and draw a U smile to the right eye. Add 2 fangs and 2 cheeks.
Tip The fangs hang down like 2 icicles. A round cheek sits at each end of the smile.
Step 5: Top legs
Start high on the left of the head. Draw a stubby bent leg, back to the head. Same right.
Tip Each leg is one shape: fat at the head, thin at the tip.
Step 6: Second legs
Start a finger lower on the left. Draw a bent leg out and back to the head. Same right.
Step 7: Third legs
Start on the left, level with the eyes. Draw a bent leg out and back to the head. Same right.
Step 8: Bottom legs
Start on the left cheek by the smile. Draw a bent leg down and back to the head. Same right.
Tip The 4 knees on each side fan out like fingers.
Step 9: Pink cheeks, grey fangs
Colour the 2 cheeks pink and the 2 little fangs light grey.
Step 10: Brown head
Colour the head brown around the cheeks and fangs. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Brown legs, dark tummy
Colour the 8 legs brown right down to the tips, then the little tummy dark brown.
