How to Draw an Iberian Lynx

12 steps · Tricky · about 9 min

Draw an Iberian lynx in 12 steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big soft head.

Print

  1. Step 1: Big soft head

Near the top left draw a big soft head, wider than tall, with round cheeks. Leave room on the right.

Tip A big head makes it cute: as big as the body is deep.

  2. Step 2: Eyes and nose

Draw 2 big eyes with black dots and a triangle nose. From the nose draw down into a smile.

Tip Add 2 whiskers on each cheek, just outside the smile.

  3. Step 3: Tufted ears and beards

Draw a tall pointy ear on each top corner, with a thin tuft straight up. Add 2 bumpy cheek beards.

Tip Add a little V inside each ear. Tall tufted ears and cheek beards make it a lynx.

  4. Step 4: Neck

From behind the head draw a neck line down to the back. From the chin draw a short one down.

  5. Step 5: Bean body

From the neck draw a big soft bean body: a long back, a round bottom and a tummy.

  6. Step 6: Ground line

Low down on the paper, draw a long flat ground line from near the left edge to near the right.

  7. Step 7: Front and back leg

From the chest, draw a front leg down to a round paw. Add a back leg with a round thigh.

Tip Make each leg narrower at the ankle, then wider again for a plump paw.

  8. Step 8: Far legs

Behind the front leg draw a thinner leg down to a paw. Add one in front of the back leg.

  9. Step 9: Stubby tail

On the top corner of the bottom draw a stubby tail like a thumb. Add a line near the tip.

  10. Step 10: Spots

Draw 6 little round spots on the back and sides, some big and some small.

  11. Step 11: Colour it sand

Colour the beards cream and the lynx sand. Leave the eyes, nose, ear insides, tufts, spots and tail tip white.

  12. Step 12: Black tufts and spots

Go over your lines. Colour the nose pink, the ear insides peach, and the tufts, tail tip and spots black.
