How to Draw a Hat Stand
Draw a hat stand in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the sun hat.
Step 1: The sun hat
Upper left, draw a sun hat: a rounded box for the crown, with a wide flat oval brim round it.
Step 2: The face
High on the crown draw 2 big egg eyes with black dots, a small U smile, and 2 oval cheeks.
Step 3: The ribbon
Just above the brim, draw a line from the crown's left side to its right side for the ribbon.
Step 4: The pole
In the middle draw a tall thin pole from near the top down to just above the ground.
Step 5: The base
At the bottom of the pole draw a wide flat oval for the round base, sitting on the ground.
Step 6: The hooks
From the pole draw 3 thick J hooks curling up: one under the sun hat, one right, one low right.
Step 7: The cap
Draw a dome cap on the right hook. Curve a flat peak from its right corner back to its bottom.
Step 8: The bowler
On the low hook draw a bowler: a round dome with a short oval brim, clear of the pole.
Step 9: Ground line
Start near the left edge and draw a straight ground line under the base, stopping near the right edge.
Step 10: Sparkles
Draw a few little 4-point sparkles around it to make it shine.
Step 11: Yellow and pink
Colour the sun hat and sparkles yellow around the cheeks, then the cheeks pink. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Red cap
Colour the cap and its peak red.
Step 13: Grey and brown
Colour the bowler slate grey, then the pole, hooks and base wood brown.
