How to Draw a Handprint Turkey
Draw a handprint turkey in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the body.
Step 1: The body
In the middle of your paper, draw a big fat egg with a flat top. It is really a palm!
Tip The thumb is the head and the fingers are tail feathers.
Step 2: The head
Start at the top left of the body. Draw a fat thumb head leaning out left, back to the body.
Step 3: Eye, beak, wattle
Near the thumb tip, draw a round eye. Add a triangle beak on the tip, with a wattle under it.
Step 4: Middle feather
Start on top of the body, right of the middle. Draw a tall finger up and back to the body.
Step 5: Two more feathers
Draw a shorter feather on each side of the middle one. Start and stop each one on the body.
Step 6: Last feather
On the far right, draw the shortest feather, leaning out a bit. Start and stop on the body.
Step 7: The wing
On the body, draw a sideways leaf shape for the wing, pointing down to the right.
Step 8: Legs, feet, ground
Draw a ground line under the body. Draw 2 thin legs down to it, each with 3 toes.
Step 9: Yellow feather, tan wing
Colour the feather just right of the tallest one yellow, and the wing tan.
Step 10: Orange and red
Colour the tallest feather, the beak and the legs orange. Colour the 2 outside feathers and the wattle red.
Step 11: Brown body and head
Colour the body and head brown, around the wing. Leave the eye white. Your turkey is done!
