How to Draw a Hamster in a Ball

Draw a hamster in a ball in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big ball.

Step 1: Big ball
Draw a big circle that nearly fills your paper.
Tip Turn your paper as you go, or draw round a plate.
Step 2: Head and ears
Inside the ball, low on the left, draw a bun head with fat cheeks. Add 2 small round ears.
Tip Leave room on the right for the body.
Step 3: Shiny eyes
Draw 2 big round eyes with black dots and a tiny white shine. Add a circle inside each ear.
Step 4: Snout and whiskers
Under the eyes, draw an oval snout with a tiny nose and a smile. Add 2 whiskers each side.
Tip Keep the whiskers short, inside the cheeks.
Step 5: Round body
Start behind the right ear. Draw a big round back, a fat tummy, and stop under the chin.
Tip A hamster is nearly as round as its ball.
Step 6: Front paws
Under the chin, draw a short arm down to a paw on the ball. Add a second paw peeking ahead.
Step 7: Back legs
Start under the tummy. Draw a big bump up and over to the hamster's back end. Add 2 feet.
Tip Every paw touches the inside of the ball.
Step 8: Tiny tail
On the hamster's bottom, draw a tiny stubby tail.
Step 9: Shine and slots
Near the top left, draw a long curved shine. On the right, draw 2 sets of 3 short air slots.
Tip The shine and the air slots show it is a clear plastic ball.
Step 10: Ground and roll
Rule a ground line under the ball. Add 2 curved lines behind it to show it rolling.
Step 11: Cream and pink
Colour the snout cream. Colour the nose, the ear middles and all 4 paws pink.
Step 12: Ginger fur
Colour the hamster's fur ginger, around the cream and pink. Leave the eyes white.
Step 13: Blue ball
Go over your lines. Colour the ball light blue, around the hamster. Leave the shine white.
