How to Draw a Grumpy Green Guy

Draw a grumpy green guy in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.

Step 1: The head
Near the top draw a big head like an egg on its side. It is almost half the grumpy guy.
Tip Fat round cheeks and a narrower chin, not a perfect circle.
Step 2: Floppy hat
Across the top of the head draw a fat soft brim. Add a floppy cone drooping right, with a pompom.
Step 3: Two big eyes
Across the middle of the head draw 2 big round eyes, one eye apart. Add black dots with shines.
Step 4: A little round nose
Under the eyes, in the middle of the face, draw a small round nose, half as big as an eye.
Step 5: Grumpy mouth and brows
Under the nose draw a flat mouth. Above each eye draw a brow tipping down a little inward.
Tip Keep the slant small, so he looks grumpy, not cross.
Step 6: Pear body
Start under the left cheek. Draw a big pear body with a flat bottom, stopping under the right cheek.
Tip The body is narrower than the head, like a pear tucked under the chin.
Step 7: Tummy patch
On the tummy draw a big egg patch, from under the chin to near the bottom.
Step 8: Arms and mittens
From under each cheek draw a sausage arm down the side, bending in to a mitten resting on the tummy.
Step 9: Legs and boots
On each side draw a round C leg. Under it draw a fat boot, toe pointing to the middle.
Tip The leg pokes out wider than the body.
Step 10: Soles and ground
Draw a straight sole line across each boot. Then draw a long ground line under both boots.
Step 11: Light green, red hat
Colour the tummy patch and the round nose light green. Colour the floppy cone red.
Tip Leave the brim and pompom white.
Step 12: Green fur, brown boots
Colour the rest of him green, around the tummy and nose, and the boots brown. Leave the eyes white.
