How to Draw a Great White Shark
Draw a great white shark in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: head and nose.
Step 1: Head and nose
Draw a big C for the head. Start high, slope down to a pointy nose, stop under your start.
Tip A great white has a pointy cone nose, not a round one.
Step 2: One huge eye
Behind the nose, draw 1 huge round eye. Fill it mostly black and add a big white shine.
Tip The bigger the eye, the cuter the shark.
Step 3: Back and giant fin
Start at the top of the nose. Draw the back up into a huge fin, then down to the tail.
Tip The fin tip is nearly at the top of the paper.
Step 4: Big tail
Start at the end of the back. Draw a tall top tip, a notch, and a bottom tip back.
Tip The two tips are the same size, like a moon. No line where the tail joins the body.
Step 5: Round tummy
Start at the chin. Draw 1 big round tummy under the body, curving up to meet the tail.
Tip One smooth curve, no bumps.
Step 6: Big open mouth
Start inside the nose. Draw a long smile back to under the eye. Add a lower U below it.
Step 7: Pointy teeth
Start on the top lip near the front. Zigzag pointy teeth along the lip and stop near the corner.
Step 8: Five gills
Just behind the eye, draw 5 short curves side by side like ) ) ) ) ). Middle one tallest.
Step 9: Tummy stripe
Start at the mouth corner. Draw 1 long gentle curve along the body, stopping on the tummy near the tail.
Tip This line is where the grey top meets the white tummy.
Step 10: Side fin
From the stripe under the gills, sweep a blade fin back past the tummy, then up to the stripe.
Tip Rub out the bits of tummy line and stripe inside the fin.
Step 11: White tummy, pink mouth
Colour the tummy and lower jaw white. Colour inside the mouth pink and leave the teeth white.
Step 12: Colour the top grey
Go over your lines. Colour everything above the stripe grey, fins and tail too. Leave the eye white.
