How to Draw a Giant Lizard Monster
Draw a giant lizard monster in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: bean head.
Step 1: Bean head
Top left, draw a big bean head lying down, with a bumpy snout.
Step 2: Big eye
Under the forehead draw a big oval eye with a black dot and shine. Dot a nostril.
Step 3: Back and fat tail
Start behind the head. Draw the back down into a fat lifted tail, then under the tail to the hips.
Tip The tail gets fatter toward the body.
Step 4: Chest and little arm
From the head draw a chest line curving down to where the leg begins. Halfway down add a mitten arm.
Step 5: Big front leg
Start where the chest line ends. Draw the leg down to 3 toes, then up a fat thigh and back.
Step 6: Tummy
Start at the back of the thigh. Draw one short sagging tummy curve and stop where the tail line ended.
Step 7: Toothy grin
Start on the snout under the nostril. Draw a long smile back to the cheek. Hang 5 pointy teeth.
Step 8: Back leg and ground
Start on the tummy behind the thigh. Draw a leg down to 3 toes and back up. Add the ground.
Step 9: Jagged spikes
Draw 6 sharp triangle spikes along the head, back and tail, each starting and ending on the outline.
Tip Like a row of shark fins.
Step 10: Tummy patch
Inside the chest, draw a long soft oval from under the chin down to the top of the leg.
Tip Keep it inside the body lines.
Step 11: Tummy and spikes
Colour the tummy patch light grey, and all the spikes dark grey.
Step 12: Dark grey monster
Go over your lines. Colour the rest dark grey, around the tummy. Leave the eye and teeth white.
