How to Draw a Football Field
Draw a football field in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: football.
Step 1: Football
In the middle of your paper draw a football lying on its side, with a point at each end.
Tip The pointy ends make it a football, not an egg.
Step 2: Two big eyes
Left and right of the middle draw 2 big round eyes, each with a black dot and a white shine.
Step 3: Smile and stripes
Under the eyes draw a U smile. Near each tip draw 2 curves from the top down to the bottom.
Step 4: Seam and laces
Along the top of the ball draw a curved seam line from stripe to stripe, with 3 short laces.
Step 5: Field
Draw a big wide rectangle around the ball for the field, with the ball in the very middle.
Step 6: End zones and lines
Near each end draw a line across. Between them draw 5 more lines, the middle 3 stopping at the ball.
Step 7: Hash marks
Between each pair of yard lines draw 2 tiny tick marks, one above the middle and one below.
Step 8: Goalposts
Outside each end of the field draw a goalpost, a thick U standing on a short post.
Step 9: Yellow posts, pink cheeks
Colour both goalposts yellow and the 2 cheeks on the ball pink.
Step 10: Mowing stripes
Colour every other strip across the field a light leaf green, for the mowing stripes. Leave the ball white.
Step 11: Green field, navy ends
Colour the other strips green, around the light ones and the ball. Colour the 2 end zones navy.
Step 12: Brown ball
Colour the ball brown around the face, leaving the eyes and the 2 stripes white. Your field is done!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a football field, drawn by you.
