How to Draw a Feelings Chart
Draw a feelings chart in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: three circles.
Step 1: Three circles
Across the top half of your paper draw 3 circles in a row, all the same size.
Tip Leave a small gap between the circles.
Step 2: Three more below
Under them draw 3 more circles the same size, lined up with the top row.
Step 3: Happy face
In the first circle draw 2 oval dot eyes and a big open smile with a flat top.
Tip Happy eyes are tall ovals. Colour them in black.
Step 4: Sad face
In the next circle draw dot eyes, eyebrows sloping up to the middle, and an upside-down U mouth.
Tip Sad eyebrows go up in the middle, like a roof.
Step 5: A tear
Under one sad eye draw a teardrop: pointed at the top and round at the bottom.
Tip Keep a gap between the tear and the eye.
Step 6: Angry face
In the third circle draw dot eyes, eyebrows sloping down to the middle, and a frown.
Tip Angry eyebrows make a V. Keep them off the eyes.
Step 7: Surprised face
Bottom left: draw 2 wide round eyes with dots, curved eyebrows high above, and a round O mouth.
Tip The higher the eyebrows, the bigger the surprise.
Step 8: Scared face
Bottom middle: draw wide eyes with tiny dots, eyebrows sloping up to the middle, and a wobbly mouth.
Tip The wobbly mouth is a zigzag with soft corners.
Step 9: Sleepy face
Bottom right: draw 2 closed eyes like little U shapes, and a small round mouth.
Step 10: Sleepy Zs
Beside the top of the sleepy face draw a Z, and a smaller Z above it.
Step 11: Yellow and orange
Colour the happy face yellow around its mouth, and the surprised face orange. Leave the wide eyes white.
Step 12: Sky and green
Colour the sad face sky blue around the tear, and the sleepy face green.
Step 13: Red and purple
Colour the angry face red and the scared face purple around its eyes. Colour the happy mouth red.
